Michigan Home Help Program

No one should have to do life alone.

Michigan's Home Help Program pays family and friend caregivers up to $19 per hour for the care they already give. Novian Care handles every step of enrollment — at no cost to you.

Free to families. Michigan residents only.

You're already doing the work.

Across Michigan, family members and friends are quietly providing daily care — managing medications, helping with meals, showing up through the long nights. Through Michigan's Home Help Program, that care pays $19 per hour — up to $3,400 a month. Most families never knew this existed. Novian Care makes sure you can reach it.

Your choice

You choose who takes care of you.

The Home Help Program doesn't send a stranger to your door. You pick your own caregiver — a daughter, a nephew, a neighbor, the friend who has been driving you to appointments for years. Someone who already knows how you take your coffee.

Don't have anyone in mind? That's alright. Tell us about your situation and Novian Care will help you find a caregiver.

Spouses cannot be paid to care for their spouse, and parents cannot be paid to care for their own minor children — but any other qualifying family member or friend can.

How it works

From your first conversation to your first paycheck, we do the heavy lifting.

1

Tell us your situation

A short form — about 3 minutes — so we understand who you're caring for and what help you need.

2

We call you

Within one business day. Not a bot — a real person, walking through next steps with you.

3

We handle the paperwork

MDHHS enrollment, doctor's authorization, every form. You don't touch a single document.

4

You get paid

Your first check arrives. You keep doing what you were already doing — now with the recognition you deserve.

Health and longevity aren't built in a clinic. They're built at kitchen tables, on front porches, and in the daily company of people who care.

Novian Care

We handle everything.

Every form, every call, every approval — so you can stay focused on the person who needs you.

  • MDHHS enrollment paperwork
  • Eligibility verification
  • Connecting you with a physician (if needed)
  • All required documentation
  • Background check coordination
  • Ongoing support after enrollment

Who qualifies?

The person receiving care

  • Enrolled in Medicaid
  • Michigan resident
  • Needs help with at least one daily activity
  • Has (or can get) a doctor's authorization

You (the caregiver)

  • 18 years or older
  • Family member or friend of the person receiving care
  • Able to pass a background check

Important Exclusions

  • Spouses cannot be paid to care for their spouse
  • Parents cannot be paid to care for their own minor children

Minor children ARE eligible for the program — a qualifying family friend or relative (not the parent) can be enrolled as their paid caregiver.

The care you give deserves to be valued.

If you're already caring for someone in Michigan, we can help you get paid for it. Let's talk.
