The strongest medicine isn't in a bottle.
After years in public health and pharmacy, our founder came to a simple conclusion: the best care doesn't stop at the pharmacy counter — it follows people home.
Novian Care was founded on a belief that prevention starts with connection. People stay healthier, longer, when they are known, visited, and cared for. Health doesn't begin with a prescription — it begins with a relationship. By helping people stay connected with their loved ones and community, we give good health somewhere to take root and grow.
Too many Michigan families are quietly doing this work without any financial support. The Home Help Program exists to change that — and Novian Care exists to make sure families in Michigan can actually reach it.
From our founder
I was the caregiver, too.
Growing up, I've always taken care of my family members when it comes to going to the doctor, translating, navigating their medications with the pharmacy, and making calls to schedule appointments. When my grandmother fell and became wheelchair-bound, I stepped into the role of becoming her caregiver during the hospital admission, surgery, discharge, and recovery at home.
Besides being a caregiver, I was also a provider when it came to groceries, laundry, attending follow-up appointments, and obtaining a walker for her physical therapy. I was an advocate for ensuring she received the proper care and was not a victim of healthcare fraud. Most importantly, I gave a lot of my time to caring for my family, and I made many personal sacrifices — like time off work — to tend to their everyday needs.
Shortly after my grandma fully recovered, she insisted it was best for her to stay back home overseas, where it is cheaper to hire caregivers to look after her, because she did not want to be a burden on my everyday life. With bills piling up as my cost of living doubled, and while struggling to keep up with rent, I sadly agreed.
It made me wonder how many families are suffering, and what their struggles are, as many are forced to quit their jobs — caregiving can be a full-time job itself. So I founded Novian Care when I came across the opportunity to help families with stories like mine start getting paid for the care they had been providing for free.
As a pharmacist who has worked in community and public health, I've seen firsthand how important it is to have access to resources. I've noticed that action is taken once things unfold, while preventative measures are ignored. My goal is to advocate for families and make sure they are given the proper resources to thrive within our communities.
